Classroom Assistive Technology

Every student is unique and faces a particular set of challenges and needs in the classroom. Assistive technology, particularly tablets such as the iPad, has the potential to bridge these gaps in learning and communication while creating a more personalized educational experience for students. Our organization works with school systems and institutions in North Carolina to acquire iPads for integration into special education classrooms.

Curriculum Development

Our hope is that when we put assistive technology into use in special needs classrooms, the transition is as seamless as possible. Making sure that teachers are comfortable with the changes and have the resources they need to adapt their curriculums to the new technology is a priority of our organization. We strive to streamline this process by providing guidance on strategy and digital resources during the process of technology integration.

Virtual Education

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused enormous changes in the way education is conducted as schools around the country have closed down and moved towards remote education. This presents particular challenges for special education as many aspects of special needs curriculum are not designed to be completed remotely. Additionally, students may face individual challenges with remote learning such as inability to focus or lack of access to technology or the internet. Our goal is to help mitigate these issues by working directly with special education institutions and educators around the country to bring their curriculums online and connecting them with remote learning resources.
