Our Mission
Transforming Special Education
Here at Unitouch, we believe that the benefits of technology and innovation should be shared by all, particularly our most vulnerable populations. Through our efforts, we hope to assist students with developmental and learning disabilities who face challenges learning and interacting with others in a traditional classroom setting. Many of these students struggle with conventional verbal and written communication, and stand to benefit from the integration of technology into classrooms.

Why Tablets?
Applications focusing on language and communication using visual cues can help students learn in an interactive manner. Research has shown that multi-functional speech-generating devices (SGDs) can enhance the learning experience of students with developmental, cognitive, and physical disabilities. Across 17 studies, it was found that 93% of individuals improved their ability to communicate by using an iPad or iPod as an SGD. These SGDs have interactive applications that focus on language and communication using visual cues in order to enhance individual communication.
Furthermore, SGDs have been reported to provide learning and preference advantages when compared to other augmentative and alternative communication(AAC) interventions, such as gestural systems or picture exchange protocols. In addition to facilitating communication, touch screen tablets can help students overcome motor, visual, and auditory disabilities. These devices can be used to personalize the learning experiences of students to ensure that individual student needs are met.
